Draco Anguis : Something you 're glad that didn't exist

 

DRACO RAPAX ANGUIS / EVERSOR

If I say that you 're glad that it didn't exist, I really mean it. The Eversor (destroyer), for short Dracan or Rapax (meaning predator), was what you could call a mixture of a snake and dragon. That's also what the name says; Draco meaning dragon in latin, Anguis meaning snake, and rapax meaning predator also in latin. 

If you like spines and scales, this was you're thing! His body was covered with an armor of stony, snake-like scales and spikes that stuck out from places on his head, wings, tail, and back. He had two horns sticking out from his forehead and , you wouldn't expect this, short but sharp teeth. I know, I know, it should have had super large teeth which could tear through hard flesh and break walls, but I had no other option, I  have to tell facts. He looked as if he was made up of black rocks. His whole body in a way expressed his thoughts and feelings, for example : If he was angry, his body would heat up and you could see lava through chinks in his armor and the tail ( without any armor, it was usually bright and looked like molten lava), but if he calm, his body would cool down and would be more or less touchable. 

The Dracans lived in volcanoes, high, large hidden volcanoes which were still active. Their skin helped greatly for them to camouflage in the similar black rocks found in Volcanoes. They made their homes between small chinks in the walls of a volcano. Over the years, their rocky skin had become invincible to the burning molten lava and floor of their unusual habitat. And if you are thinking that they had super good eyesight to look around in the dark, well yes, they did have super good eyesight but not because of living in the shade. Do you know what the sun is made of? Well of of course you do! Its made up of hydrogen and helium but I am asking for a simpler explanation, what a 1st grader would answer. LAVA! That's what. It was made up of tons and tons of lava and fire. And isn't that the substance present in the volcano? Well, yes it is! and although it might not be a bright as it is outside, it's still enough to see. 

But the main reason they lived in the volcano was for food. You might have thought that these were predators, you know, man eating machines and all that, but they are not. They actually eat a type of fish (you wouldn't believe it) found in lava called tericis and drink lava. But they are not vegetarians. So if you irritate a dracan in any way, wish your last wish, say goodbye to everyone who is dear to you and say bye to life. They won't think twice before gulping you down their burning necks. Dracans also eat a type of mineral found in the volcanic rocks called 'obsidian'. It's the size of your head and dracans use their slim heads to kind of drill in rocks and find it. 

Dracans are usually shy creatures. They only come out of their den to find food interact with other Dracans etc. They basically only come out when nessecary. But they are not so peace ful creatures either. They are agressive, violent and get annoyed easily.

A Dracan's rocky scale armor is impossible to break. The have strong teeth (but not so big). Their body is untouchable by any creature. They are invincible to fire (but do not breathe fire). They have super sight. They can fly. They look super cool. But with all of these strength (not sure that the last one is a strength though), they have one teeny-meeny weakness. They are allergic to grass. Yep, you heard me correct, they cannot touch grass. So if they are flying outside their den (volcano), they cannot take a break from flying until they reach another volcano ot clearing without grass.

Though they might not have super strength, breathing fire, turning invisible or anything else like that, they do have one thing, and that is the power of healing. You might be thinking that their rock/scale skin is practically indestructable, so isn't healing useless. Well, it's not the healing you are thinking about. This healing is from the inside ( not the emotion thing, the scientific thing, internal), this healing helps the Dracans recover quickly from diseases relating with internal organs.

Anyways, Dracans are creatures that have lived from the time the earth was a raging ball of fire.
